Here are some tips for you to blend your masterpiece:
Use Mediums: Mix your oil paints with mediums like linseed oil or a slow-drying medium to extend the working time, allowing more time for blending (Oil praints dry very slowly – but media as described above can also make the colors appear thin)
Clean Brushes: Keep your brushes clean. Residual paint can affect the colors and blending quality. Clean them freqently with a cloth or paper towel to prevent excessive mixing.
Avoid Overworking: Be careful not to over-blend, as this can muddy your colors. Know when to stop to preserve the vibrancy of your paint.
Feathering Technique: Lightly drag a clean, dry brush over the edge where tow colors meet. This will soften the boundary and blend the colors together.
Soft Brushes and Blenders: Use soft, clean bruhes or blending tools to smooth transitions. Bruhes like fan brushes or soft round brushes are ideal for blending.
